Simon Omossala left out of the Indomitable Lions squad for the first time since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

The goalkeeper for FC Saint Eloi Lupopo in the DR Congo has not been called up for the March 2026 international break.

This is the first time since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that Simon Omossala has not been called up for the Cameroon national team’s training camp. Since former manager Rigobert Song stepped down after the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Cameroonian international goalkeeper had always been selected.

However, for the March 2026 international break, during which Cameroon will take part in the FIFA Series in Australia, David Pagou has decided to do without the goalkeeper’s services. An absence that is nevertheless raising questions in Cameroon.
