Simba SC (Tanzania) Triumphs 5-2 Over Kagera Sugar, Coach Calls for Defensive Improvements

Despite Simba SC's decisive 5-2 victory over Kagera Sugar in the Mainland Premier League on Saturday, head coach Fadlu Davids voiced his displeasure with his team's defensive play. With the victory, Simba won for the seventh time in a row and moved up to the top of the standings, one point ahead of rivals Azam FC.

Simba’s attack was on fire, with Steven Mukwala scoring twice and additional goals from Mohamed Hussein, Shomari Kapombe, Jean Charles Ahoua, and Fabrice Ngoma. The team controlled the game, but defensive lapses allowed Kagera Sugar to score two late goals, a situation Davids found unacceptable.

"While I appreciate the five goals scored and the overall performance, conceding two goals is not the standard we aim for," Davids stated in a post-match statement. We must deal with this right now since it is an attitude problem rather than a tactical one. Our power depends on keeping clean sheets.
