Shooting Stars Coach Nurudeen Aweroro Admits Team Struggled Despite Win Over El-Kanemi Warriors
Shooting Stars technical adviser Nurudeen Aweroro has acknowledged that his side found it difficult to impose themselves, despite securing a narrow victory over El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.
The Oluyole Warriors claimed all three points with a slim 1–0 win at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, but Aweroro admitted the performance was far from smooth.
Speaking to 3SCfanstv after the match, he noted that the team had hoped for a more comfortable scoreline.
“We worked so hard to score more goals, but we are content with the one goal we scored,” Aweroro said.
“We had to defend towards the end of the game to preserve our goal. The victory gives us more confidence ahead of our next game.”
Shooting Stars will now prepare for a tough test as they face defending champions Remo Stars in a rescheduled South West derby on Wednesday.
