NPFL: Shooting Stars Hit by Injury Setbacks Ahead of El-Kanemi Warriors Showdown

Shooting Stars are dealing with a growing list of injury concerns as they prepare for their Matchday 15 encounter against El-Kanemi Warriors, creating uncertainty around their squad depth heading into the crucial fixture.

According to the club’s update, Mustapha Lawal, Sodiq Ibrahim, Ganiyu Wasiu, and Gali Falke are currently being assessed by the medical team after sustaining minor knocks. Their availability remains uncertain as the club awaits further evaluation.

The announcement also confirmed that Utin Ikuowen, Adams Mustapha, and Austin Onyeamechi will not feature in the upcoming match due to illness. The trio continues to receive close medical attention as they work toward a full recovery.

In addition, defender Samuel Okon is still undergoing rehabilitation for his Achilles tendon injury and is not yet ready for action. However, the update came with a dose of optimism as Joshua Akpan has returned to team training and is expected to be available for selection soon, once he regains full match fitness.

Shooting Stars will aim to navigate these injury challenges when they host El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan
