Shame! Tottenham statistics you won't believe
Tottenham's nightmare start to the season has reached a new low, with the London club sinking to the very bottom of the Premier League table.
Details: Despite spending more than £300 million on transfers this summer, Tottenham head into the international break in 20th place in the Premier League. Roberto De Zerbi's team have collected just two points from their opening five matches, failing to register a single victory.
Tottenham's statistics before the international break make for painful reading. The Londoners have already crashed out of the Carabao Cup following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool. Their Premier League campaign has been equally disappointing, with just two goals scored in five matches.
Spurs failed to score in any of their first four league fixtures. They finally broke their scoring drought against Aston Villa on September 19, but even two late goals could not prevent a 3-2 home defeat. The result initially left Tottenham in 18th place, before Sunday's matches sent them to the bottom of the table.
The contrast between the club's summer spending and its results is striking. Tottenham have suffered three defeats and recorded two goalless draws in the Premier League, leaving De Zerbi's side without a league victory heading into the international break.
It is worth noting that Tottenham's two points from their opening five Premier League matches represent their worst start to a league campaign since 2008.
Reminder: Disaster for Tottenham! De Zerbi suffers another defeat as Aston Villa punish Spurs
