The season has just ended, but the favorites for the next NBA campaign have already been named

The current NBA season concluded on the night of Tuesday, June 18th, with the Boston Celtics defeating the Dallas Mavericks to become the champions.

According to The Athletic, the Celtics are also the favorites for the upcoming season. The publication released a list of favorites for the 2024/25 season. Denver Nuggets are in second place, with the Dallas Mavericks rounding out the top three. The top five also includes the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Milwaukee Bucks.

To recap, throughout the entire 2024 playoffs, the Celtics suffered only three losses: one in the finals against the Mavericks, one in the first round against Miami, and one in the second round against Cleveland. This is the second-best record in NBA history.

Notably, this NBA championship is Boston's 18th in history. This achievement surpasses the Lakers in the number of NBA titles, making the Celtics the record holders in league history. Golden State ranks third with seven titles.

The Finals MVP was awarded to Boston's guard, Jalen Bryan, who averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists, with a 44% field goal percentage.
