Severe punishment. UEFA give verdict in Morata and Pedri shouting case x.com/SEFutbol

The celebration of the Spanish national team's victory at the European Championship turned into a big scandal, and now UEFA has made a decision about its key persons.

It can be recalled that during the celebration, the shout "Gibraltar is Spain" was heard from the lips of Alvaro Morata and Pedri, after which an investigation by the authorities began. We have the verdict: one-match suspension for the aforementioned players for the next national team match.

Reason: failure to comply with the general principles of conduct, violation of the basic rules of decent behaviour, use of sporting events for demonstrations of an unsportsmanlike nature and discrediting the sport of football and UEFA in particular.

In view of this punishment, Morata and Pedri will miss the first UEFA Nations League match against Serbia on 5 September in Belgrade.
