Several UEFA Europa League matches will observe a minute of silence
On Thursday, 29 January, we will witness all 18 UEFA Europa League matches, and several of them will start with a minute of silence.
Details: According to UEFA, the matches in Lyon and Athens will kick off with a minute of silence. It will be held in memory of PAOK supporters who tragically lost their lives. In addition, players in the match between LOSC Lille and SC Freiburg will join in applause to honour the victims.
Notably, all these matches will kick off at 21:00 CET.
We previously reported that a horrific tragedy shook Greek football: seven PAOK supporters were killed in a car accident while travelling to the Europa League match against Lyon.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Romania — the minibus carrying fans on their way to France was involved in a fatal crash.
Reminder: On Wednesday, the team honoured the supporters’ memory with a minute of silence during training, while fans began bringing flowers to the Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki.
