Serious crash at Tour de France stage. Race favorites involved
One of Europe's premier cycling tournaments, the Tour de France, arrived in Brittany, where a terrifying crash unfolded just a few kilometers from the finish line.
Details: With seven kilometers remaining, a major accident occurred at the back of the yellow jersey group, as at least 10 riders went down hard in a massive pile-up.

According to The Guardian, the incident was triggered when one of the race favorites, João Almeida, lost a tire off his rim, crashed heavily, and brought down around ten other riders with him.
Most of those involved managed to get back on their bikes and continue the race, but it remains unclear whether Almeida, as well as Jack Haig—who suffered the most in the crash—are alright.
Reminder: Ultimately, Almeida did finish the stage, but came in 28th. The stage was won by Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar.
