French winger Moussa Diaby is eager to pull on the Leverkusen shirt once again.

Details: According to Germany’s Sky Sport, Bayer 04 and 27-year-old attacker Moussa Diaby have reached a full verbal agreement on a contract running through summer 2031. The Frenchman is determined to return to Leverkusen, where he previously enjoyed one of the brightest spells of his career.

However, the transfer itself is far from complete. Negotiations with Saudi club Al-Ittihad remain tense, as both sides still need to agree on compensation and the final transfer fee. Nevertheless, Bayer’s management remains confident of a positive outcome and is pushing hard to seal the deal.

It’s worth noting that Diaby played for Bayer from 2019 to 2023, then moved to Aston Villa, and in the summer of 2024 switched to Saudi Arabia. During the 2025/26 season, Diaby made 31 league appearances for Al-Ittihad, scoring 4 goals and providing 7 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €25 million.
