It looks like this year’s Wimbledon is set to deliver plenty of headline-making upsets.

Details: Today, in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in London, Alexei Popyrin, currently ranked 22nd in the world, faced off against 22-year-old Arthur Fery of Great Britain, who holds the No. 461 spot in the ATP rankings.

On paper, it seemed that the experienced Australian would cruise to victory, but the young Arthur Fery turned out to be a tough challenger and sensationally defeated his much higher-ranked opponent 3-1.

The match lasted a full two hours. After the first two sets, Fery led 2-0, but in the third set, Popyrin reignited hopes of a comeback by narrowing the gap. However, the fourth set put everything in its place—Arthur Fery sealed the win: 4-6, 1-6, 6-4, 4-6.

In the next round, Fery will face the winner of the clash between Luciano Darderi (world No. 59) and Roman Safiullin (world No. 75).
