Sekhukhune United's Lebogang Phiri discloses Kaizer Chiefs showed interest in him was not as strong as the effort showed by Babina Noko
Lebohang Phiri has disclosed time was not on his side when Kaizer Chiefs showed interest in him.
The former Bafana Bafana international who is now on the books of PSL side Sekhukhune United revealed he had talks with Amakhosi but nothing came out of those discussions.
“We had small talks with them, but I think it was the time they were going for a pre-season training camp abroad in the Netherlands,” said Phiri to FarPost.
“In all honesty, I think the way they proved to me that they really want my services stood out. As a player, you always want to grow and know where you want to go. But when you feel that this is home, I got that feeling from day one,” Phiri revealed during the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals draw on Monday.
“So, I took the opportunity to become a member of Babina Noko, and I am proud and happy to be here.”
Tomorrow Sekhukhune United face Mamelodi Sundowns in a PSL game at Loftus Versveld and he will be expected to play a key role for Babina Noko.
The game starts at 3.30pm.
