Sebastian Hoeneß emerges as one of the a top candidate for Borussia Dortmund head coach role
Borussia Dortmund's management is actively searching for a new head coach following the dismissal of Nuri Sahin. Among the extensive list of potential successors, a new name has surfaced.
Details. According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Sebastian Hoeneß is one of the leading candidates for Dortmund's managerial position this summer. This is contingent on the club securing a long-term contract with Stuttgart's current coach as early as now.
Hoeneß’s release clause, reportedly between €7–8 million, will remain valid for Dortmund in the summer, particularly if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League.
It is noted that Hoeneß plans to make a decision about his future between March and April. However, his priority remains with Stuttgart.
Reminder. It was previously reported that Dortmund’s management held a secret meeting with Austria’s national team head coach Ralf Rangnick.
