Sebastián Ferreira Returns to Olimpia: “I Had Dreamed of Coming Back”

Sebastián Ferreira is officially back at Olimpia for the upcoming Clausura tournament, fulfilling a long-standing wish to return to the club where he began his career. The 27-year-old striker, who rose through the youth ranks at the “Franjeado”, made his senior debut years ago but struggled to secure regular playing time.
“I’m really happy to come back home. I spent several years abroad and always had the hope of returning—now it’s happened, and I want to contribute,” Ferreira said after being unveiled as a new signing. He will wear the number 9 jersey.
Ferreira has played for Libertad and Independiente CG in Paraguay, and had international stints with Atlético Morelia, Houston Dynamo, Vasco da Gama, and Rosario Central. Reflecting on that journey, he noted: “I left very young. Now I’ve gained more experience, I learned a lot abroad.”
After a tense struggle between Paraguayan heavyweights to obtain his services, Ferreira left Rosario Central and settled on returning to the “Decano”
Asked what fans can expect, Ferreira was clear: “As a supporter of the club, I’ll give everything for the team. I’m the first to want to win.”
His return adds depth and passion to Olimpia’s attacking options as the club prepares for the second half of the season.
