As Rosario Central gears up for a historic chapter with the arrival of Ángel Di María and a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup, the club is also facing decisions about player departures. According to TyC Sports, Paraguayan striker Sebastián Ferreira has attracted serious interest from clubs in his home country, raising the likelihood of his exit this transfer window.

Ferreira joined Central from Houston Dynamo earlier this year but has struggled for playing time, featuring in just nine matches and scoring twice—against Gimnasia and River Plate. His position within the squad is now under review, especially with the return of Agustín Módica, who has fully recovered from a ligament injury suffered in August 2024.

Back in Paraguay, Olimpia, Cerro Porteño, and Libertad have all expressed interest in bringing Ferreira back. Among them, Olimpia is reportedly leading the race to secure the forward.

Central’s management is now weighing its options. With high-profile names like Alejo Véliz and Ángel Correa linked to the club, the attacking line is under scrutiny. Véliz, whose rights are held by Tottenham, spent last season on loan at Espanyol, while Correa is evaluating offers amid interest from Tigres UANL.

As Di María’s official unveiling approaches, Ferreira’s departure could be finalized soon. Rosario Central is looking to reshape its roster ahead of a demanding second half of the year, balancing domestic ambitions with a rare shot at international glory.
