Scott Parker on Lyle Foster's absence at Burnley against Chelsea: We had few of our players struggling with a stomach ache and Lyle was one of them
Lyle Foster’s stomach ailment is the reason the Bafana Bafana international was left out of the Burnley team which drew 1-1 against Chelsea.
Foster’s Clarets scored a last minute goal to play to a 1-1 draw against The Blues at Stamford Bridge and the Bafana marksman was not part of the team over the weekend.
His coach Scott Parker disclosed that Foster alongside some of his team-mates had a stomach bug to deal with which rendered them unavailable against Chelsea.
“He was struggling a little bit with his stomach, so we decided that it was best to bring him off,” Parker told Burnley Express.
"There’s been some illness including Foster. Lesley Ugochukwu as well, he missed training on Thursday due to it.
“So, there’s been a little bit of illness in the camp, Bash Humphreys as well reported last night at a hotel that he was struggling.
“So, there has been a little bit of that, but we got through it.”
Foster’s Burnley are on the 19th spot on the EPL standings and are eight points from safety with 11 games remaining this season.
This may be an uphill task ahead for them.
