“Scared to death”. F1 movie director shares Brad Pitt's impressions from a ride with Hamilton
Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton gave Hollywood legend Brad Pitt a serious scare for his life when he took him for a lap around the track in the passenger seat. Joseph Kosinski, the director of the F1 movie starring Pitt, shared in an interview with Time magazine that the actor had a tough time during the ride.
"Lewis scared Brad for life in just one lap. Brad was scratching at the windows, begging to be let out," Kosinski joked.
It should be noted that Hamilton was a consultant for the film, helping to reveal to the writers and directors the inner workings of Formula 1, both on the track and in the pit lanes.
The British racer also recalled teaching Pitt how to handle a race car.
"We went to a track in Los Angeles. I sat in the passenger seat while he drove. In my youth, I was a driving instructor. It was a way to make some money. So I've interacted with many non-racing drivers. You can immediately tell the good ones from the bad ones. He got it right away. You can tell he has it—it's in his DNA. He couldn't excel at it like we do, but he has great potential," Hamilton told Sports Illustrated magazine.
