Renowned Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, after obtaining free agent status, has immediately attracted interest from several clubs.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Turkish club Beşiktaş, Greek clubs Panathinaikos and AEK, as well as unnamed clubs from Saudi Arabia, have shown interest in the experienced midfielder in recent days.
Shaqiri has been playing for MLS club Chicago Fire since 2022 after moving from Lyon. The footballer has made 75 appearances for the American team, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists.
The midfielder is mostly known for his performances with Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Liverpool, Stoke City, and Swiss club Basel.
After the summer UEFA Euro 2024, Shaqiri announced his retirement from the national team. Alongside the Swiss team, he reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.
