Saudi clubs have been shaking up the transfer market recently by attracting star players from around the world with substantial offers. This transfer window is no exception.
According to Teamtalk, Saudi Pro League clubs have approached Liverpool regarding the transfer of Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk. The Reds have set a price of €55 million for their 33-year-old captain. It is reported that some of these clubs consider the asking price too high.
With van Dijk's contract with Liverpool expiring in the summer of 2025, Saudi clubs are expected to try to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with him as early as January.
