The contract of one of the pivotal players of Atletico Madrid, Mario Hermoso, is set to expire at the conclusion of the current season, and as of now, negotiations between the 28-year-old player and the club have yielded no results.

According to reports from the Spanish publication Marca, clubs from Saudi Arabia have shown interest in the defender.

Mario Hermoso has emerged as a key player for Diego Simeone's team in recent times, featuring in the starting lineup for the majority of matches. However, considering that Madrid seeks to negotiate a reduction in the player's salary, the prospect of a change in his residency appears increasingly plausible. Presently, Hermoso earns approximately €4 million annually and acknowledges that offers from other top leagues may be more lucrative. Notably, we are not referring to clubs from the Middle East willing to double the player's salary.

The current transfer value of the player stands at €25 million, according to data from the statistical portal Transfermarkt, making signing Hermoso as a free agent an excellent opportunity for various clubs to save on their budgets.

Significant changes are expected at Atletico Madrid in the summer, one of which could involve the replacement of one of the key defenders, making it unlikely that Hermoso will remain at the club.
