Sanele Barns is headed back to Richards Bay after learning that he is not in Gavin Hunt's plans at Betyway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC

Sanele Barns is headed back to Richards Bay from Stellenbosch FC.

The midfielder joined Stellies under Steve Baker from the Kwa-Zulu Natal side and has established himself as of the dependable players at the Cape club.

But the arrival of Hunt has seemingly brought in those changes to the player’s stay in Cape Town.

He is said to be headed back to Richards Bay permanently and not on loan as initially suggested.

When he joined Stellies two years ago, he club had not reached any cup final in local football but returns to Richards Bay having reached the MTN8 final and a Caf Confederation Cup semi-final spot last season.

He made 68 appearances for Stellies, scoring seven goals and has six assists to his name.

The departure of Steve Barker has a hand in how things are turning out at the Cape Winelands side as Hunt is on a mission to create his own way of doing things.

And players such as Barns who were key for Barker are likely to be shipped off under Hunt.
