Botafogo from Rio de Janeiro has officially received a transfer ban from FIFA due to previous violations.

Details: FIFA has decided to impose a transfer ban on Brazilian side Botafogo. The club will not be able to register new players for the next three transfer windows.

Reports indicate that the transfer ban is related to the move of Thiago Almada in 2024: Botafogo failed to pay the full transfer fee to Atlanta United. If the Brazilian club’s management does not settle the outstanding payment, the restriction could be extended.
