Carlo Ancelotti left Real Madrid after the 2024/25 season, and his son decided to strike out on his own by taking charge of Botafogo. However, his spell with the club proved to be short-lived.
Details: Insider Fabrizio Romano reported that Davide Ancelotti is stepping down from his role as manager of the Brazilian club. He has no intention of signing a contract with Botafogo.
Botafogo finished sixth in the league table. They collected 63 points from 38 matches and are set to compete in the Copa Libertadores qualifiers.
We also previously reported that Santos are in talks with Neymar over a contract extension for next season, although Flamengo have also expressed interest in the winger. Several players from the reigning champions’ squad would like to see Neymar join their team.
Reminder: A new alarming incident has shaken Rio de Janeiro, as a bus carrying Botafogo’s youth team players came under gunfire. Fortunately, none of the footballers or members of the coaching staff were injured.
