Reports say that last year, Diouf's former wife Valerie Bishop took him to court over unpaid child support totaling nearly £14,000. After legal proceedings, the court ordered Diouf to pay compensation to Valerie and their 17-year-old daughter, who remains with her mother, and imposed a suspended prison sentence on the former striker.
El-Hadji Diouf played for Liverpool from 2002 to 2004. He joined the Reds from French side Lens for €15 million, making 80 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 6 goals and providing 13 assists. Diouf also became well-known for his performances with the Senegal national team at the 2002 World Cup, where he was one of the tournament's standout players.
