Born in Belgium, the Werder Bremen striker is reported to have begun the administrative process to change his sporting nationality.

The Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo could be set to receive a new reinforcement. As the Congolese national team prepares for the World Cup scheduled for this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico, dual nationals are increasingly opting for the DRC.

Following in the footsteps of Jorthy Mokio, Samuel Mbangula is reportedly set to represent the DR Congo on the international stage. The 22-year-old striker is said to have made his decision and begun the process of changing his sporting nationality.

Samuel Mbangula has represented Belgium’s youth teams, from the U15s to the U21s.
