Safa also mulling over Helman Mkhalele to takeover Bafana Bafana from Hugo Broos

Helman Mkhalele's name has popped up as one of the coaches to succeed Hugo Broos.

Broos officially vacated his post last Friday and Safa are on the lookout for his successor.

Mkhalele, a former national team player, has been mentioned as a coach Safa could consider for the sake of continuity.

Mkhalele has also been assistant to Broos alongside Grant Johnson who has been goalkeeper coach.

“Yes, Mkhalele has been touted as a possible replacement for Broos as he worked with Broos for the whole five years,” said a source close to the negotiations.

Safa president Danny Jordaan mentioned last week that they will be finalising the coach's name this Saturday as Pitso Mosimane has also been linked to the job.
