The player now has time to pursue other interests.

Details: Today it was announced that 21-year-old Fulham centre-back Charlie Robinson has officially called time on his career.

According to Robinson, the decision was extremely tough, but recurring knee injuries over the past few years left him with no other option:

“After three years battling knee injuries and consulting with the country’s top specialists, I am sadly forced to retire from professional football,” Robinson said.

Charlie Robinson is a Fulham academy product. He came through every stage of youth football at Fulham, but a severe knee injury forced him to miss several seasons.

Over the past three years, Robinson managed to play just two matches.
