The fourth racket of the world from Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina refused to participate in the Olympic tennis tournament 2024, which will be held on the courts of Roland Garros (Paris).

Instead of Rybakina, Daria Saville (Australia, WTA 77) will play at the Olympics.

At the start of the Olympic Games Elena was supposed to play against Jacqueline Cristian (Romania, WTA 61). Now Caroline Garcia (France, WTA 25) will face Christian, while Saville will compete against Zheng Qinwen (China, WTA 7), with whom Garcia was supposed to play.

As for doubles, Rybakina was announced as a tandem with Aleksander Bublik. Instead of them, the Argentines Maximo Gonzalez / Nadia Podrroshka will take part, who will take the court against Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff at the start of the competition.

The Olympic tennis tournament will be held from July 27 to August 4.

Note that in 2021 Rybakina became the fourth at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Elena has one Grand Slam title - Wimbledon-2022, as well as 8 trophies at the WTA level.

Earlier it was reported that Andy Murray withdrew from the singles at the Olympics. For the legendary Briton this is the last tournament in his career.
