Ryan Garcia stated that he had a vision about his next opponent
After convincingly defeating Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia expressed his desire to move up to the super welterweight division and fight against the WBC/WBO world champion, Sebastian Fundora.
“I had a vision to fight [Sebastian] Fundora at 154 [pounds],” Garcia said. “I don’t know why, I just feel I could knock him out. I know that’s really, really random. I just feel like I could get the title at 154.
I fought guys that big before and I’ve knocked them out in sparring. Cold, slept them. I want to do it. Shout out Fundora, no disrespect.” quotes Garcia mmafighting.
It's worth noting that Garcia was awarded the victory over Haney by a split decision from the judges (112-112; 114-110; 115-109).
Despite his win, Ryan did not capture the WBC belt in the super lightweight division because he exceeded the allowable weight limit by 3.2 pounds (1.45 kg) during the weigh-in ceremony before the fight.
