Rulani Mokwena and his club president share opposing views on facing Mamelodi Sundowns in the Caf Champions League

Rulani Mokwena and his MC Alger club president Hadj Redjem have a contradicting view on Mamelodi Sundowns.

Monday’s Caf Champions League draw saw Mamelodi Sundowns pitted against ST Eloi Lupopo, MC Alger and Sunda’s Al Hilal in Group C of this season’s group stages of the continent’s premier competition.

While Mokwena believes his side are at a disadvantage against Mamelodi Sundowns in their Caf Champions League group, Redjem believes having Mokwena, a former Sundowns coach is good for MC Alger.

Mokwena says Sundowns are better experienced in the competition compared to his side but his club president disagrees.

"Mokwena’s experience with his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns, in continental tournaments will greatly benefit MC Alger," Redjem told Algerian International TV.

His coach sees it differently though.

“That Al-Hilal have more heritage in the Champions League than us. That Mamelodi Sundowns have more heritage than us in group,” Mokwena said, as per Karabo Selebalo Pasha.

Whichever way they look at it, both the coach president need to agree on one thing so they can beat Sundows to this season's Champions League trophy.
