Roy Keane has finally addressed the incident that stirred the football community last month, reports Daily Mail. The Irishman was involved in a heated verbal exchange with a fan during the Premier League match between Ipswich and Manchester United.

Keane was working as a pundit for Sky Sports during the game when an Ipswich supporter began hurling insults from the stands. Keane approached the fan and reportedly told him to "talk later in the parking lot," which many interpreted as a threat.

However, Keane denied any hostile intent during his appearance on the Stick To Football podcast, offering his side of the story.

"I went over to him twice – I said, "No problem, if you want to abuse me or if you want a discussion with me, well I’m working". I went over to him twice at different stages and he was swearing in front of kids. I said, "If you want to see me afterwards" – and people thought I was asking him for a [fight] – I said, "I’ll see you in the car park". Where else was I going to see him? He wasn’t there!"

The Ipswich fans' taunts seem to stem from Keane's tenure as the club's manager, a period marked by underwhelming results. It appears some supporters still harbor resentment towards him from those days.
