Roy Keane clashes with Ipswich fan, invites him to settle it in the parking lot
Following Sunday’s match between Manchester United and Ipswich, Roy Keane engaged in a heated exchange with a Tractor Boys supporter. Daily Mail has uncovered details about the incident.
The Ipswich fan reportedly shouted insults at Keane from the stands, prompting the Irishman to confront him. Keane approached the heckler and invited him to "step outside" to the stadium parking lot for a chat.
Witness Neil Finnbough explained that the fan’s hostility stemmed from past grievances.
"The argument all stemmed from an issue with his children. The fan's issue was about getting autographs back in the day when he was the manager here. The guy was basically saying Roy Keane ruled with fear," Finnbough shared.
The fan’s long memory appears to trace back to Keane’s tenure as Ipswich manager from 2009 to 2011. Keane struggled to achieve success with the Tractor Boys and was eventually dismissed.
On the pitch, Manchester United failed to secure a victory against Ipswich in Ruben Amorim’s debut as manager, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
