Italian football is rocked by a massive scandal following the explosive statements made by Federico Mangiameli, a former forward for Milan’s youth teams (U17 and U19).

Details: The 22-year-old, once considered one of the most promising talents of the Rossoneri, has publicly exposed the festering wounds of a system he ultimately chose to leave.

“On the one hand, I’m disappointed, on the other – I’m happy. Only those who have lived in this world know just how disgusting things are behind the scenes,” Federico confessed, describing the structure of Italian football as deeply toxic.

Mangiameli openly accused agents and clubs of corruption and nepotism that are destroying Italian football from within. According to him, promotion for players from lower leagues to Serie C is often bought with envelopes containing €50,000, while Serie A squads and youth academies are filled with overrated foreign players. Federico also mentioned coaches who have no say in selecting the starting eleven, and club officials who treat young players in a disgraceful and appalling manner.

These revelations hit particularly hard in the wake of Italy’s recent elimination by Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-offs for the 2026 World Cup. Mangiameli is convinced that the current crisis of the Azzurri is a direct result of a system where ignorance, favoritism, and the pursuit of quick profits are rampant.

“Football has become something that should not be a model: people faking everything, and uncultured individuals willing to do anything for a couple of bucks,” the ex-Milan player concluded.

Reminder: Milan has set its sights on Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson.
