Cristiano Ronaldo's sisters delivered a fierce response to the wave of criticism that hit the Portuguese superstar following his visit to the White House and meeting with US President Donald Trump. Ronaldo was a guest at an official dinner organized in honor of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which sparked heated debate online.
This event marked the Al-Nassr striker’s first public appearance in the US since 2016, and during the dinner, Trump thanked Ronaldo, noting that his son Barron has long been a fan of the footballer.
However, not everyone approved of Ronaldo's attendance at the official dinner. On social media, he was accused of choosing the wrong company, but his sisters Elma and Katia Aveiro quickly came to his defense. Elma posted sharply on Instagram, stating that the criticism is pointless because Ronaldo absolutely doesn't care about the opinion of detractors. In a video, Katia noted that what was just a regular business trip somehow triggered an emotional outburst from the haters, likening their reaction to a tantrum.
Additionally, next summer Ronaldo will return to the US when the Portugal national team arrives for the World Cup. According to Cristiano himself, the 2026 World Cup will be the final chapter of his legendary career with the national squad.
