Ronaldo played his 1200th match and said it's not over yet

Yesterday, the Saudi Pro League match unfolded at Al-Nassr's home ground against Al-Riyadh. The match culminated in a resounding victory for the hosts (4-1), with the star forward of the team, Cristiano Ronaldo, contributing two decisive actions by scoring a goal and providing an assist to his compatriot Otavio.

Beyond being a victorious match, this held particular significance for Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner marked his milestone 1200th professional match during this game.

Following the match, the Portuguese athlete posted on his Instagram page: "Another three points in the bag! Grateful to all my teammates who have helped me reach the mark of 1200 matches. What a journey! But we're not done yet!".

It's worth noting that Ronaldo isn't just breaking records in football but also outside its realm, as he holds the record for the highest number of followers on his Instagram profile.

Currently, the record for the most professional matches belongs to English goalkeeper Peter Shilton, who played for various English clubs from 1966 to 1996 and served as the goalkeeper for the England national team for twenty years. Shilton played 1390 matches in his career, implying that Ronaldo needs to play another 191 matches to surpass this record.

In the current season, Cristiano has participated in 20 matches, scoring eighteen goals and providing nine assists.
