Ronaldo is furious! What will he do?
Ronaldo Nazário knows all too well just how ruthless the battle between a footballer and his own body can be.
Details: The two-time World Cup champion weighed in on Cristiano Ronaldo's performance at the 2026 World Cup. Speaking live on ESPN Brasil, the legendary Brazilian stated that the Portuguese star's body may no longer be able to withstand the intensity of football at the very highest level.

"In general, your body lets you know when it simply can't go on. Winning this battle against your own body is incredibly difficult.
Maybe you still have the level to play in Saudi Arabia, but at the World Cup you realize it’s much tougher because the standard is so much higher.
No matter our passion, our love for football and the desire to play forever, in the end it’s your body that makes the decision. I don’t play football anymore because my mind still works the way my body just can’t handle," Ronaldo said.
It’s worth noting that Portugal exited the 2026 World Cup in the Round of 16, losing 0-1 to Spain. Cristiano confirmed this tournament was his last World Cup, though he has yet to officially announce his retirement from the national team.
Reminder: Decision made? It has become known when Ronaldo will announce his departure from the Portugal national team.
