There is currently a flurry of speculation surrounding the goalkeeper position at Barcelona, with the Blaugrana potentially boasting several top-class shot-stoppers in their squad this summer. Renowned insider Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest updates on the rumors linking players to Barcelona.

Details: According to Romano, the Catalan club will trigger the release clause in Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García's contract, with the player set to join Barcelona next week. An agreement has already been reached between García and Barcelona.

Quote: “García will become a Barcelona player next week. An agreement has been reached with the player. The release clause is set at 25 million euros. Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle were also interested, but Barcelona have outpaced the competition,” Romano told Meczyki.

Reminder: It was precisely the activation of the release clause that was the condition under which Espanyol were willing to let their goalkeeper leave.
