Roma fans blocked emergency exits at Athletic stadium. UEFA launches investigation

Last week, Athletic Bilbao defeated Roma and advanced to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, sparking a furious reaction from the Roman club's fans.

Details: According to the Basque club, Roma supporters occupied the emergency exits at the San Mames stadium. They lit flares and threw various objects on the arena's esplanade. Additionally, the stairs in the fan zone were also blocked.

UEFA has launched an investigation into the incident. Athletic is ready to provide all necessary documentation. Once the investigation is concluded, UEFA will make a decision based on the collected evidence.

It is worth noting that Athletic knocked out Roma with a score of 4-3 and will face Rangers in the quarter-finals. The first match is scheduled for April 10, with the return leg on April 17.

Reminder: Athletic Bilbao's star player Nico Williams explained why he did not transfer to Barcelona last summer despite the Catalans' persistent interest.
