Roma's main goalkeeper Rui Patricio will turn 36 on 15 February, and the Romans are thinking about a generational change in this position. The Portuguese's contract, which expires this summer, will not be renewed, and it is already known who they are looking at to replace Patricio.

According to TMW, Roma have been in contact with Napoli to find out about the situation regarding the contract of Neapolitan goalkeeper Alex Meretas, as his contract expires at the end of June. His contract has an automatic one-year extension clause that will be activated if he plays 70 per cent of matches.

So far, the 26-year-old Italian defender has played 22 matches out of a possible 32 for Napoli, which is 68%, just under the threshold. His current salary is about 1.8 million euros per season.

Recall that earlier it was reported that Napoli midfielder Piotr Zieliński passed a medical examination at Inter.
