Rodwell Thabe takes over as CEO of Zimbabwe Premier League after Kennedy Ndebele officially resigns
Effective 24 January 2025, Kennedy Ndebele has stepped down as CEO of the Zimbabwe PL in preparation for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) vice Presidential Elections scheduled for 25 January.
The duties of the Executive Director have been temporarily delegated to Rodwell Thabe, pending the appointment of a new director, to ensure continuity of work, and to complete what Ndebele has done to raise the standards of the Premier League and enhance its position in football in Zimbabwe.
The football sector in Zimbabwe is currently witnessing a period of change in leadership, especially after the resignation of former league president Farai Jere last December, so Ndebele's resignation came before the league's executive elections scheduled for next March.
In the coming days, the football fans will be eagerly awaiting the results of the ZIFA elections, which could shape the future of football administration in zimbabwe.
