While many Brazilian prisoners have been granted improved conditions for the Christmas holidays, including time with their families, former Manchester City and Real Madrid player Robinho was notably excluded from this list.

Details: According to Daily Mail, Robinho was denied temporary release privileges even as another prisoner—serving a 40-year sentence for holding a woman captive and subsequently murdering her—was allowed 11 days of "holiday freedom" in Tremembé prison near São Paulo. Robinho, who is detained in the same facility, was not granted this concession.

Reminder: In 2017, an Italian court convicted Robinho of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old Albanian woman. The player denied the charges and appealed, but in January 2022, his conviction was upheld, making the nine-year prison sentence final.

Following the conviction, Italian authorities issued an international arrest warrant for Robinho. He was later apprehended in Brazil, where a local court enforced the sentence.
