It appears Liverpool have begun preparing for the possible departure of their captain, Andrew Robertson.

Details: According to the German portal Fussballdaten, English side Liverpool are hoping to sign 23-year-old Swedish left-back Daniel Svensson from Borussia Dortmund.

Reports indicate that Liverpool scouts have been monitoring the young Swede for quite some time, and his level of play has convinced the Reds' management to start preparing negotiations with Borussia this coming summer. Svensson is being considered as a long-term, high-quality replacement for the outgoing 31-year-old Andrew Robertson, whose contract expires this summer.

However, Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit—Arsenal and Juventus are also keeping tabs on Svensson, while Borussia value their defender at no less than €40 million.

Daniel Svensson joined Borussia in the summer of 2025 from Nordsjælland for €6.5 million. This season, the Swede has played 29 matches for the "Black and Yellows," scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist.

Svensson's current contract with Borussia runs until 2029, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value stands at €22 million.

Reminder: Robertson’s move from Liverpool to Tottenham is currently on hold
