Riyad Mahrez pleased with Algeria’s preparations for the World Cup
“We’ve prepared well here in Sidi Moussa”
The Fennecs captain believes his team has done the necessary work to approach the tournament in the best possible shape.
Algeria fly to the United States this Sunday, 7 June, ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off on 11 June. But before boarding, Riyad Mahrez gave his assessment of the Algerian squad’s preparations.
The 35-year-old forward was optimistic about the team’s form. Riyad Mahrez highlighted the quality of the training camp held at the National Technical Centre in Sidi Moussa and the friendly match against the Netherlands.
“We’ve prepared well here in Sidi Moussa. We went to the Netherlands and played a good match. I think we’re in good form; the competition will tell.”
