Riyad Mahrez climbs to second place on Algeria national team all-time scorers list. Who has more goals?

The Algeria national team is facing Burkina Faso in the second round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage.

After the first half, the score stands at 1-0 in favor of the Desert Foxes. The only goal so far was netted by the North African side's talisman, Riyad Mahrez. For the 34-year-old, this was his third goal of the tournament, following his brace against Sudan in the previous match.

Notably, Mahrez now has 37 goals for the national team, moving him up to outright second place on Algeria's all-time top scorers list, overtaking Abdelhafid Tasfaout. Only Islam Slimani stands ahead, having scored 45 goals for Algeria.
