RIP. Sad news from England: Norwich City’s honorary president has passed away

English football is mourning a landmark figure in the history of the East Anglian club.

Details: English club Norwich City have announced the death of their honorary life president, Michael Wynn Jones. The former long-serving co-owner of the Canaries passed away peacefully at the age of 85.

Wynn Jones and his wife, renowned television presenter Delia Smith, ran Norwich City for almost three decades. In 1996, the couple effectively saved the club from financial collapse by acquiring a majority stake and investing significant funds in the team’s development.

During their tenure, the Canaries experienced many memorable moments and earned promotion to the top flight of English football on several occasions. Recently, the couple transferred their controlling stake to new investor Mark Attanasio, while remaining honorary life presidents of the club.

It is worth noting that Norwich City representatives and the fan community have shared heartfelt tributes and expressed their sincere condolences to Delia Smith, Michael Wynn Jones’s family and loved ones.
