Tottenham Hotspur's legendary striker Martin Chivers has died at the age of 80.

Details: London club Tottenham has officially announced the passing of their iconic former forward Martin Chivers.

Chivers stands as one of the most iconic figures in the club’s history. During his time with Spurs, he twice lifted the League Cup and also captured the UEFA Cup. The prolific forward made 367 appearances and scored 174 goals for Tottenham, forever etching his name in the annals of the club.

In addition to Tottenham, the legendary striker also played for Southampton, Norwich, Brighton, and represented the England national team.

As a mark of respect and remembrance for one of the greatest players in the club’s history, Tottenham players will wear black armbands during the match against Bournemouth.

As a reminder, the Premier League Matchweek 21 fixture Bournemouth vs Tottenham will take place today, January 7, at 20:30 Central European Time.
