The English football club has been plunged into mourning following news of the death of its celebrated veteran.

Details: Burnley Football Club has announced with deep sorrow the passing of former defender Les Latcham, who died at the age of 83.

In an official statement, the club's board, players and staff expressed their heartfelt condolences to the veteran's wife, Pam, his daughters Emma and Gaynor, as well as the many friends and relatives of the deceased. The club's supporters are preparing tributes in honour of the former defender.

Latcham was a key figure in the club's defensive setup throughout the 1960s and 1970s. At Turf Moor, he was valued for his commitment, positional awareness and battling character in fiercely contested matches.

It is worth noting that Les Latcham made 165 official appearances for Burnley, representing the team in England's top flight and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, as well as defending the colours of Bradford.
