RIP. Former CFR Cluj and Romania national team player Gabi Mureșan has died

A tragic accident has claimed the life of the former footballer.

Details: Sad news has come from Romania. Former national team midfielder and long-time CFR Cluj player Gabi Mureșan has tragically passed away at the age of 44.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred after a sauna session. The ex-footballer decided to swim in a cold lake, but soon disappeared underwater. It is believed the tragedy was caused by thermal shock, which triggered a heart attack.

Rescue services promptly located Mureșan, pulled him from the water, and rushed him to a medical facility. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, doctors were unable to revive him.

Throughout his career, Mureșan became one of the most recognizable midfielders in Romanian football. He played successfully for CFR Cluj, won national trophies, and represented the Romanian national team.
