Richard Towa reacts to Colombe Sportive’s draw in the CAF Champions League

The Cameroonian club will compete in Group C, alongside RS Berkane, Simba SC and Orlando Pirates, three clubs well-accustomed to the continental stage.

For its very first appearance in the group stage of the CAF Champions League, the Southern Bird is set to face a formidable challenge. But despite the calibre of its opponents, Colombe Sportive manager Richard Towa is confident and insists his team will approach the competition with ambition.

“We’ll be up against regulars in this competition, whether it’s Simba, Orlando Pirates or Berkane. I can assure you that Colombe will go in with everything they’ve got and with the intention of having a good tournament and winning their matches,” said the Cameroonian club’s manager.

Aware of his opponents’ experience on the African stage, Richard Towa intends to capitalise on his squad’s preparation to ensure Colombe Sportive stands a fair chance.

“We are fully motivated to take part in this Champions League for the first time in our history. The team will be well prepared to make a good impression.”
