Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has set a new record in Spain’s La Liga by starting in the 31st round clash against Espanyol.
According to Opta, this match marked a landmark appearance for the Catalan sensation—his 100th in the competition. Yamal reached this milestone at just 18 years and 272 days old, making him the youngest player ever to make 100 La Liga appearances. The previous record belonged to Real Madrid legend Raúl González, who hit the mark at 19 years and 284 days.
It’s worth noting that the 18-year-old forward has been in sensational form this season: across all competitions, he has featured in 42 matches, netted 21 goals, and provided 17 assists—including one in the first half of the derby against Espanyol.
